During Craft Days, a special pop-up by Chylak will showcase the brand’s latest designs, including its iconic handbags reimagined in milky amber, as well as its debut jewelry collection.

The programme of events accompanying the exhibition develops its main narrative, shifting the emphasis from the display towards debate, dialogue, and practice. Here, basketry becomes a field of contemporary interpretations: from craft to design and critical reflection. Our guest speakers will present different perspectives: from the art world through fashion, museology, design research, and craft practice, creating a many-voiced narrative about material, form, tradition, and significance.

In December of last year, Polish basket weaving was inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This event became the impetus for the creation of Craft Days — a new project by the Visteria Foundation dedicated to contemporary craftsmanship, applied arts, and creators from Central and Eastern Europe.

The exhibition was visited by over 18,000 people, and queues of visitors formed in front of the Torre Velasca building. The exhibition “Polish Modernism: The Struggle for Beauty” was recognized by The New York Times.

After its successful debut in 2025 with the Romantic Brutalism exhibition, dedicated to the historical and contemporary legacy of Polish arts and crafts, the Visteria Foundation returns to the capital of Lombardy with a new exhibition titled Polish Modernism.
